We are looking for an experienced IBM FileNet & Content Navigator (ICN) Developer to join a long-term enterprise digital transformation project.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, extending, and integrating IBM electronic document management solutions (FileNet & ICN) for a major European client. This is a flexible remote/hybrid position based in Portugal, with short monthly trips to other countries in Europe!

Main responsibilities

  • Design and develop FileNet backend components (classes, subscriptions, pre-processors, code modules) and ICN features (desktops, plugins, External Data Services - EDS)

  • Integrate FileNet and ICN solutions with external systems to automate document qualification and dynamically enrich metadata

  • Maintain and upgrade existing FileNet and ICN architectures to guarantee high availability, scalability, and compliance

  • Perform unit testing to ensure overall solution quality and prevent non-regression

  • Prepare deployment packages, user guides, and configuration manuals, supporting production rollouts across environments

  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot deployed enterprise solutions

Requirements

  • Proven experience developing and customizing IBM FileNet P8 and IBM Content Navigator (ICN) solutions

  • Solid software background in Java/J2EE and web integration technologies (REST/SOAP, JavaScript/Dojo)

  • Hands-on expertise building ICN plugins, custom desktops, and External Data Services (EDS)

  • Must reside in Portugal (Remote/Hybrid flexible) and be available to travel to Europe 1 week/month (~4 days)

  • Mandatory fluency in Portuguese and English (French is a strong plus!).

Nice to Have: Experience with automated testing (E2E, integration, API), platform migration projects, regulated/sensitive data environments (Healthcare, POS, Retail), or OutSystems/low-code platforms.
